Yin yoga is a passive introspective practice where poses are held for a longer period of time. For beginners it may be up to 45 seconds, whilst experienced participants could go up to 3-5 minutes. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas.
The other benefits include balancing the body and mind, reducing anxiety, improving blood circulation, fascia release and internal organs massage.
